BAMGOC Bristol Area MG Owners Club

BAMGOC’s supported charity

BAMGOC is essentially a club for MG owners (although anyone with an interest in classic cars is welcome here). However, apart from our monthly meetings, Sunday Runs, weekends away and attendance at local events, we also raise some money for a nominated charity. Funds are raised at our annual Brunel Run and at various other designated events. Since 2007 we have supported the Bristol Children's Help Society and their Barton Camp facility near Winscombe. Bristol Children’s Help Society offers residential and outdoor learning experiences for children whose personal circumstances have significantly depleted their life opportunities. This could be the result of a wide variety of situations including disability, poverty, parental drug or alcohol misuse, their own status (including being in care or a carer), entering the UK as a refugee, bereavement or mental health issues. Their aim is to promote aspiration, self- determination and resilience through a range of outdoor, team building activities in a rural residential setting. BAMGOC has been privileged to use Barton Camp for our Brunel Run since 2007. The facilities there are fantastic, with indoor accommodation and a heated swimming pool. All the funds we raise go to help this worthwhile charity. If you’d like more information on this excellent cause then please go to: https://www.bartoncamp.org. Thank you for reading.
